Celebration this Christmas 2013

A few more weeks and it is Christmas. Because of the monster typhoon “Yolanda” that had caused devastation in the Visayas part of the Philippines particularly in Tacloban City, Leyte province many people joined together to help. We are so thankful that huge donations in kinds and monetary were donated by hundreds of people all over the world.

Some companies even skip their Christmas party events this year just to extend their donations for the victims of Yolanda typhoon. Various groups and organizations were formed to be part in helping the Yolanda victims and in restoring the development and economy of the province.

Even though we have experienced this kind of madness extremely those who are affected with the Yolanda typhoon, we should still hope for a brighter tomorrow. Christmas is a very special event and I believe that we have to rejoice and celebrate this wonderful season of love and sharing.

We share our blessings and we pray for them. This Christmas season we should not forget the true meaning of the Christmas spirit. Joy giving and forgiving, love, and let us always be a blessing to others. No matter how small or big, a simple present in any form could make a big difference.

Summer is hotter with Banana Boat Sunscreen Lotion, Schick, & Nuffnang

What is your ideal Nuffnang summer?

My ideal Nuffnang summer is spending a relaxing family vacation near the beach indulging yummy Halo halo with ice cream on top. It is summer again and it is a perfect time to have a close bonding activity with the whole family such as swimming on the beach, watching fantastic movies and having a relaxing body spa. It would be excellent if there is a good internet connection at the family vacation place so it will be more fun and easy to update my blogs.

Swimming at the beach is healthy because it is good for our body and mind. At the beach we can relax, enjoy the sun and inhale the fresh air away from the polluted city. Aside from close bonding with the family, we get close to our mother nature and we can teach our kids to love our mother Earth. This activity will truly enrich family awareness that we should take care of our mother Earth to preserve the beauty of the beach and other natural resources.

Have  fun and take your relaxing family vacation! Before you go to the beach, make sure to bring something that will keep your skin healthy and neat even under the sun. Why not grab  Banana Boat Sunsreen lotion and Schick. Enjoy!

What is Black Friday in United States?

One of the big events that is much awaited in some parts of United States is Black Friday. It is the day after the Thanksgiving day in the U.S.A. which is Friday after the fourth Thursday in November.  It is holiday in some states and considered as busy shopping day because some people spend time in shopping for Christmas presents. Many stores offer big discounts, lower their prices on some items and have special product offers such as toys, clothing, etc. Others spend this day to travel, make trips, visit their loved-ones and go on vacation.

Why is it called the Black Friday?

The term “Black Friday” has been used in multiple context.

  • It was associated in the financial crises in the US in the nineteenth century.
  • The earliest known reference in 1966: A name which Philadelphia Police Department has given to the Friday following Thanksgiving Day as their endearment to the event. It officially opens  the Christmas shopping in the center city that usually brings traffic jams and over-crowded  sidewalks.
  • A popular theory is that the wheels of vehicles in the heavy traffic on the day after Thanksgiving day left black marking on the road leading them to use the term Black Friday.
  • In accounting practice, it is the year’s biggest retailers resulting in big profit recorded in black ink compared to losses (red ink). Businesses started making profits prior to Christmas.
This year the black Friday is on November 25, 2011. If I am in the United States I will surely be one of the shoppers in the over-crowded stores.

How to Prepare Your Home for the Holidays

The last quarter of the year is always marked by celebrations and events. When the holidays come around and the year winds to a close, people find themselves overwhelmed with preparations for celebrations, events and parties. From shopping to cooking to visiting relatives out of town, things can get really hectic and you may find your holiday experience less than enjoyable. If you want to avoid the rush this year and tackle your tasks in an organized manner, it is important to start early.

Preparing your home for the holidays involves the usual stages: decluttering, cleaning and maintenance of appliances and furniture. Make a list of all you want to do and prioritize things one a time line.

Here are some of the things you might miss out and should not fail to do:

  1. Replace burned out light bulbs. LEDs, or light emitting diodes, are better used in outdoor places because they are durable and perform even in cold weather. LEDs with the energy star are recommended for pathway lights, step lights and porch lights.
  2. Safeproof your home. Make your home slip-proof and fall-proof. Clean walkways, get rid of ice and snow regularly. Fix loose treads, deck boards and loose pavement steps on walkways.
  3. Since it is going to be winter season/colder season, establish a place to collect coats and jackets. Add extra hangers to your coat closet.
  4. Inspect the refrigerator. Food is going to be a major player in events you will be hosting – making sure that it is up and running is important.
  5. Clean and prepare guest rooms so it will be ready for visitors.

Photo at the 2nd Blogger Fiesta Manila 2011

As I have mentioned in my recent post that it was my first time to attend the blogger fiesta. More than 200 bloggers attended the event happened at SM Cyberzone, SM North Edsa. I am so glad that I have met my fellow Pinay Mommies Community (PMC) blogger there and also some bloggers.

Although I knew some of the things that the speakers shared, I still listened and written some notes because they are really helpful especially to newbies. I still consider myself as a newbie blogger. I started blogging last year with the aim of just making a journal about my life’s learning and sharing what inspires me. Today I have three active blogs and another one on the making. I will be sharing the important tips that I have learned from the good speakers with my other blog at Online To The Fullest because it is the right niche for my internet and blogging post, making money, events and reviews.
